Reviewers are chosen based on their expertise and experience. At a minimum, we will only consider individuals as reviewers who meet the following criteria:

  1. Hold a Ph.D. degree or its equivalent in a relevant field.
  2. Actively engage in current research.
  3. Have one or more recent publications in peer-reviewed journals of a caliber similar to our journals.

Benefits of being a reviewer for our journals include compensation for reviewing articles. Reviewers are encouraged to convey their recommendations within their reports. The final decision, made by the responsible editor, is informed by the strength of the author's arguments and all reviewer assessments. It may not always align with all reviewer recommendations.

Review Recommendations:

When making a recommendation, reviewers are encouraged to consider the manuscript's alignment with the journal's aims and scope, as well as its specific category under review. Reviewers will be prompted to select from the following recommendations:

  1. Publish without revision: Suitable if the manuscript is ready for publication without the need for major changes.
  2. Publish after minor revision: Appropriate if minor revisions, such as fixing references, enhancing figures, addressing language issues, or improving presentation quality, are required. Minor revisions may also involve providing more detailed explanations for results or including additional control experiments that do not significantly affect the conclusions.
  3. Reconsider after major revision: Suitable if significant revisions, such as conducting additional key experiments or making substantial changes to address theoretical, methodological, or other scholarly concerns, are necessary.
  4. Suitable for another journal: Select this option if you believe the manuscript is not suitable for publication in this journal but might be of interest to readers of another journal. Please specify the required revisions in the "Comments to Editor" or "Comments to Author" section for potential transfer.
  5. Reject: Choose this option if you believe the manuscript is not suitable for publication in its current form but has the potential for publication after fundamental improvements are made
