Abstract

Nowadays, motorbikes play an important role and are a popular transportation at big cities in developing countries, due to many advantages such as: convenience, flexibly and low cost…Vietnam is a country that has largest motorbike in the world and it is main transport in big cities as Hochiminh city and Hanoi…Almost of the design of intake manifold in the current motorbike that has simple structure and dynamic. This result to mix between air and fuel isn’t good and creates the unsuitable mixture for all operating conditions. Hence, this leads to the incomplete combustion in engine, and reduces the engine performance and economic  fuel consumption. This study proposes a novel design of the intake manifold system, which is improved from the traditional intake manifold system for engine in the motorcycle. to This result to improve the tumble and swirl ratios that increases the mixture in cylinder that helps the combustion process in engine completely occurring. The study has tested the improving intake manifold system in test bench about engine performances and drive the real road for the fuel consumption evaluation.  The experiment results show that the proposed design can improve about engine performance:  increase power and torque about 4,4 % and 3,6 %, respectively. Whereas, the fuel consumption can reduce 12,9%.
